Plus, if you’re eligible for insulation grants, you can save even more money. In this blog post, we’ll explore how insulation grants can help you save energy costs.

Lower Energy Bills

Insulation grants in the UK are designed to help homeowners reduce energy bills by cutting down on the amount of energy required for heating and cooling. Insulating your home results in effective temperature control and makes your house warm in freezing winter conditions and cool in hot summer. This lowers your monthly utility bills, saving you hundreds of pounds annually and indirectly protecting the environment. By using your savings from reduced energy bills, you can easily pay back the insulation costs in a few years

Increased Property Value

Once the insulation measures are installed, you can enjoy the many benefits of a well-insulated home. You will notice lower energy bills, improved energy efficiency and increased comfort in your living space.

Applying for insulation grants may seem like a daunting task, but it can be a great way to upgrade your home without breaking the bank. By following these steps, you can secure funding for your home improvements and enjoy a more energy-efficient living space. Remember to check your eligibility for the different schemes and find an accredited installer to help you through the process. Stay warm and comfortable all year round while reducing your carbon footprint!

You could save up to £590 annually on your energy bills with an insulation grant

Many properties without any loft insulation stand to save a great deal if loft insulation is installed.

Annual savings that could be achieved (figures from the energy savings trust)

Detached house – £445

Semi-detached – £270

Mid-terrace house – £240

Similarly, installing loft insulation in a detached bungalow with no previous insulation could save £440 each year.

To give more insight, these savings are based on the cost of fuel as of January 2024, and for a gas-heated residence insulated with 270mm of loft insulation.

But the benefits of loft insulation don’t end with financial savings. A typical loft installation can also prevent many kilograms of CO2 emissions. For example, a detached property could save up to 1000kg of CO2 emissions annually, while a semi-detached house may save 620kg and mid-terrace houses could reduce 550kg of CO2 emissions.
